Ivy has turned into a real toddler. It seems like overnight. She took a few good steps the other week, but has been hesitant to walk too far. But it seems like something changed Monday night. She is walking a lot now and trying to talk to us all. the. time. Ivy is amazed by the birds flocking to our birdfeeder and wants to make sure we see each one. She's pointing a lot and very clearly telling us all about everything....only we can't understand it.
Today, Ivy is 11 months old (!). Words are slowly making their way out of the gibberish. She says Hi and Bye and has a few signs but pretty much just yells and giggles. This morning she woke up saying, "Ma Ma!".
It's official. She is the cutest baby girl there ever was.
I took the kids to the Children's Museum yesterday. We're at the peak of summer, and are 'snowed in' of sorts. Monday was the first day of school, so the museum was wonderfully empty on a Tuesday afternoon. Jack is fully into pretend play and spent a long time grilling some steaks for us.
Ivy saw a ramp and headed straight up. A more cautious baby might have paused at the top, but not my Ivy. She may have hesitated a second, but she pretty quickly went face first down the tube slide.....and loved it! Here she is exploring the ramp.
We were lucky to catch Ivy's first steps on video.....also lucky that she decided to start walking the first day Mom and Dad were back home from our trip.
